Here is a suggestions I have.
Currently, the general discussion area at the top of the screen ("General") has 3 sections. General discussions, UE news and Off-topic. This is a good categorization, but there is one issue: the topics and posts here are visible to anyone at all, even those who have not registered, or indeed have been kicked off after leaving the empire.
By contrast, "The Natives" section below it only has 1 category - the Strategy guides. This can only be accessed by those who have registered. This is obviously by design, as we don't want others to access these guides. But as an extension to this, no-one but lieutenants of the empire can create or reply to posts in this section. This is fair enough as we don't want to swamp the strategy guides with too much noise.
But this causes a problem: the vast majority of empire members do not have the requisite rights to create or reply to threads in this section, yet sometimes empire members will need to post some information visible only to the eyes of empire members. At present, they can only post this to the General section, which as stated above is visible to everyone.
I can give a few examples:
1) There could be a thread about who is away and for how long, so we can expect absences. This information may be useful to other empires.
2) General chat about empire war strategies or discussions about where to put defenders/buildings. Again, we don't want this visible to those who have not registered or have been kicked out.
3) Information on specific people to target in other empires. We definitely don't want this out in public.
Thus, my request is to build a section or sections under "The Natives" in which our approved site users can create/reply to private Natives threads outside of the strategy guides area.
Happy to be shot down.
Kind regards,
Seraph
